Saat-h Sur is a musical instrument inspired by the Indian classical instruemnt Jal-Tarang. This percussion instrument consists of 7 ceramic water-filled bowls of gradated sizes. Vibrations in the water resonate and create sound when the user hits the edge of a bowl with a wooden mallet. The circular arrangement of the bowls allows multiple people, from children to adults, to create music together and connect without words- just sound.
Saath Sur lets you discover your inner musician without needing to know the technicalities of the instrument. Music is a universal language that transcends culture, and religious boundaries and establishes a connection with others. The desired effect of a Saath Sur gathering is to overcome physical distance and the feeling of isolation by bringing people together to kindle their musical imagination.
